Tomorrow’s Success Must Start Somewhere
Where (and when) will your story begin?
This piece is for my friends who have a message to share and want to use video/vlogging as a way to distribute quality content BUT you hesitate to record yourself and/or you hit the “delete” button rather than “share” every time.
In a moment I’m going to show you a 4-year-old video, however, NOT because it’s an amazing video that fills me with pride every time I view it, BUT rather because of how beginner-level it is.
When Garry Melville and I made this video, we were both new at video creation. We each had a passion for helping others and we wanted to share our message but we were very new in the game. (Watch the video and you’ll see what I mean)
BUT, we kept with it. We made regular videos and over time we became more comfortable with pressing that scary red record button.
In those early days we constantly had to do retakes for videos because everything had to be perfect (mostly due to my functional OCD). Now, we confidently record live videos and laugh off live-broadcast mistakes like it’s nothing. Because in all honesty, messing up isn’t a big deal. It’s natural.
PRO TIP: Most content consumers prefer to view an unpolished authentic video from a real person they can connect with versus an overly produced studio video with all the bells and whistles.
So if you’re hesitant to make videos and share your message then STOP getting in your own head and doubting your ability.
YES, you have a skill
YES, you are good enough
YES, you deserve to share your content
YES, people want to hear your message
YES, you are awesome
Now get out there and make a difference!
I believe in you
PS – If you need help getting out of your own way then I want to hear from you. Maybe you’ll be a good fit for my upcoming ROCKSTAR INFLUENCER PROGRAM, where I’ll help you define yourself as an expert in your industry.
