About Rich

Greetings friend and thanks for visiting! You’re here which means you probably want to know a little bit about me so here goes!

My name is Rich Perry and I’m a First Generation Entrepreneur and Best Selling Author. I am the co-author of International #1 Best Selling book Bankroll Your Mind and was invited by Jim Britt and Jim Lutes to be a co-author in The Change, the fastest growing personal development book series in the world.

My gift is in the ability to relate to each person and take my clients on a hero’s journey by integrating both conscious and unconscious performance to create a lasting and powerful change. I work with first generation entrepreneurs and business leaders who want to make a difference in the world. I show my clients how to develop and deliver a meaningful message, build brand loyalty by creating strong customer relationships, and grow their leadership platform.

The motto I live by is:
“Lead By Example Through Excellence”

Quick Backstory

I’ve always wanted to help people. Growing up, I was active in Boy Scouts and other community groups and learned the value of cheerful service for others. It was here, working towards earning the coveted Eagle Scout award and training for the degree of Black Belt in Martial Arts that I learned how to set a goal, utilize key strengths, and stay dedicated in pursuit of higher achievement. Both helped influence and shape the person I would become and continue to be a source of inspiration and reflective learning even to this day

When it came time to decide a major in college I chose psychology because I figured being a therapist would be a great way to help others and make a real difference. For seven years I worked in children’s mental and behavioral health, initially concentrating on pre-teen behavioral clients and later transitioning to early development within the Autism spectrum. I also served four years as program director for a therapeutic summer camp.

In the beginning this work was very rewarding but over time I began to get burned out. I started to feel like I wasn’t living up to my full potential, which was stopping me from fulfilling my true purpose in life. Even though I was making a difference in the community by helping children and their families, I eventually came to understand that when it comes to fulfilling one’s life purpose, just being “in the ballpark” isn’t good enough. Add bad decision-making and more than a few toxic relationships and I began to spiral downward through bouts of depression and self-loathing, which ultimately led to having an emotional breakdown one day at work. This is when I hit rock bottom but also served as a major turning point in my life.

Walking a Different Path

Needing a change in life, I reached out to a friend for help and on her suggestion I plotted a new course focused on personal development and growth. I was hooked. I began attending various trainings and seminars, reading fascinating titles, and started to surround myself with a different crowd. My life was transforming before my eyes and I loved every second of this incredible experience. For the first time ever I was able to introduce myself as “my own boss” because I was walking the path of an entrepreneur. Each day was a new adventure and this excited me. I was walking on clouds.

I could feel that something wonderful was on the way and I enthusiastically prepared to receive what was coming. I was ready. This was going to be good. I felt like I was about to be kissed by the heavens. Sure enough, it came, the moment I had been waiting for. It was powerful and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Then it continued to pummel me, knocking me over, and kicking me while I was down just for being so foolish.

Reality Check

This was my wake-up call. I knew nothing about real business or what it took to be a successful entrepreneur. I never took a single business class in college. Sure I knew the basics in certain areas but quickly learned that there was more to being an entrepreneur than just being skilled in a given profession.

Business plans, proper branding, marketing strategies, sales, scheduling interviews for publicity, product launches, social media campaigns, blogging/vlogging, joint ventures, collaborating with like-minded people, and finding the right mentor – that’s just scratching the surface!

Not to mention the fact that this path can often times be a very lonely and quiet road. Nobody ever talks about the late nights, cancelled weekends, missed family outings and social gatherings, and sacrificed vacations. Those things aren’t sexy to discuss. Another aspect that’s often overlooked is the enormous time commitment and money investment because the return is rarely seen immediately.

Attitude of Gratitude & Redefined Purpose

Thankfully, along the way, I met some truly amazing people and generous mentors who were instrumental in my personal and professional growth. These individuals were a much-needed beacon of light when all had seemed dark. I will be forever grateful for the amount of help received.

After much soul searching, it was in my own journey that I found my true purpose. My mission would be to help people just like me – First Generation Entrepreneurs who are ready to make a difference in the world. I would be the torchbearer for people who are, right now, where I was just a few years ago.

In 2019 I am committed to helping 10,000 people make a difference. I would love for you to be one of those people. Take a look at the services I offer, grab the tools you need, and reach out to me personally to discuss how I can best serve you.

Thanks and Be Excellent!
